Sunrise Engagements - Horsetooth Reservoir - Fort Collins - Courtney and Kyle

Sunrise engagement photo shoots require a lot of dedication, but are always worth it. Arriving to Horsetooth Reservoir, in Fort Collins Colorado at 5:45 AM is we decided to do in order to capture the sun as it breached the horizon of the eastern Colorado plains. The colors went from a dark orange, to pink, to light blue within the hour we were shooting. The air was crisp, but quickly warmed once the sun rose. After shooting toward the east we decided to shoot toward the polarization in the sky to capture the most color. The water in Horsetooth Reservoir was still, and mirror like.

Huge congratulations to Courtney and Kyle on their engagement!  Their Hot Springs, Arkansas wedding, at the Anthony Chapel is going to be absolutely stunning.
