How to have a Last Dance

We’ve all heard of a first dance. You know, when the couple has their first dance as a married couple, usually as an official way of opening up the dance floor. This is often accompanied by parent and other formal dances, but have you ever heard of a last dance? Probably not, cause it is a JMGant Photography specialty.

Your wedding day will come and go in a flash! One of the things that we encourage our couples to do are slow down and take in as much of the day as possible. You’re likely going to be pulled in many different directions, which is understandable, but our couples have shared with us that next to their first look, that their last dance is often one of those most memorable moments.

How does a last dance work?

Usually, at the end of most weddings, this is some sort of formal send-off, where your friends and family line up to wave you farewell. This usually take a few minutes to orchestrate and line the guests up outside. While this is happening, and after all the guests have left the room, this is the time we encourage our couples to have one last dance all alone, without spectator’s and guest’s eyes watching, and to slow down and take one last moment together to soak in the beautiful day that they just celebrated.

All you that you need to do is choose a special song and let your DJ, or whoever is in charge of the entertainment, know what your plans are. They should be able to easily accommodate your request.

From a photography standpoint, this will give us a unique opportunity to photograph the two of you all alone on the dance floor.
