Their Story told by Ashli
Eric and I met back in 2008 when I moved to Parker from California. We were introduced as mutual friends but didn’t start spending time with each other until early 2011. After a long and frustrating day at my old job, I caved and told Eric that I’ve had a huge crush on him for months. Lucky for me, he said he felt the same way! We planned our first date and ended up going to Ted’s Montana Grill a few nights later. I remember feeling so fancy and Eric looked so handsome all dressed up. I was all nerves and excitement during dinner- only to have spilled soda all down my dress and on my shoes. Instead of feeling embarrassed, we both laughed. After that, I knew that dating Eric was going to be the time of my life.
During Christmas, 2015, after dating four whole years, Eric asked me to be his wife. We had just gotten home from spending the day with Eric’s family and were having some quiet time before our roommates got home. Eric told me to turn on the lights on the Christmas tree. I told him no, I will do it in a minute, right now I’m playing with Emmy (our little Silky terrier). He insisted I get up and turn away from him to bend down and plug in the Christmas tree lights and, again, I said I would get to it after spending time with the dog. After I foiled his plan twice and finished playing with Emmy, Eric comes back downstairs and starts hugging me. He kissed me and got down on one knee. “Ashli, will you marry me?” I don’t even think I said yes! After giggling like crazy and letting him put the ring on my finger, we kissed and shared the news with our loved ones. I knew we were at the start of something magical and exciting.
Throughout our time together, our relationship has grown into something strong, loving, and most importantly, still youthful and fun. Our wedding day was a shining example of our companionship, and we both felt it was the most amazing, beautiful, and fun day we’ve had in our lives!
