Nederland Colorado Wedding By JMGant Photography - Dave and Alicia

I first met Dave and Alicia a year and a half back while they were participating in, and I was photographing, their friends' wedding. At the time, I had no idea of their relationship status, but when they decided to start planning their wedding, I was happy they contacted me. Just a few days prior to their wedding, they decided to do formal session, which was wonderful. 

They have a beautiful home in the mountains of Nederland, which was a perfect location to host their wedding and reception party. The ceremony was outside in a small opening surrounded by tall pines. The guests sat on beautiful, homemade benches that were offset. No music was played, but nature provided it's own splendid sounds as the wind lightly blew. The ceremony was short and full of emotion and laughter. After the ceremony, their was a short period of cocktails and hor d'oeuvres, and then a delicious meal of smoked meats cooked by Dave's dad. Toward the end of dinner, four toasts were given, each telling beautiful and often hilarious stories that had the guests periodically breaking out into laughter. 

After dinner the bride and groom shared their first dance as husband and wife and then the party began. Great music by Rockstar DJ Aaron, lots of dancing, and tasty drinks kept the party lively and going late into the night. 

Their Story:
Dave and Alicia met at Twig salon, where Dave was one of Alicia's clients. After a year of a professional relationship, Dave asked Alicia out for a cup of coffee or dinner. She agreed to go but then cancelled the plans. He was persistent, and after two separate phone conversations lasting well into the night, he charmed her into a first date. They very quickly realized they had a lot in common. Both were raised with good southern values, had a mutual love of 80s pop music, enjoyed movies and tv, had dogs that already loved each other, and had shared several of the same life experiences. With the exception of work trips, the couple hasn't had a day without seeing each other since that first date.
