River Bend - Lyons Colorado Wedding - Shelby and Nate

River Bend (Lyons Farmette) wedding venue matched Shelby and Nate's personality and style perfectly. The River Bend is an all outdoor venue, with a rustic-boho-chic feeling throughout. It gets it's name from the beautiful river that bends right through the venue, The river has a red sandstone cliff on the other side, which creates the beautiful backdrop you'll notice in many of the pictures. Their wedding was fun and relaxed. The guests enjoyed playing the yard games while sipping on the delicious home-made wine, made by Shelby's dad. For dinner the guests enjoyed a verity of tacos order directly from the Comida food truck. After the ceremony and dinner everyone danced to the sounds of the river accompanied with beautiful bluegrass music. The evening was cool, and the celebration lasted late into the night. Congratulations Shelby and Nate! 

Their Engagement Story - Told by Shelby
Nate and I have always known each other growing up. He was in the same class as my brother in school and they were best friends. It wasn't until 2010 when Nate and I made our first encounter as adults. We were both at a party at Illinois State University when I slipped outside on the ice. He looked at his friend Caleb and said "who is that girl?" Caleb replied, "that's Shelby Wilson, Tyler's sister." Nate hadn't really seen me since we were a lot younger.

After 5 and a half years of dating, Nate finally proposed. I guess you could say everyone had been "patiently" waiting, including myself. He proposed at Quandary Peak in Breckenridge when we had went on our first 14er adventure. Unfortunately, we didn't make it to the very top because a storm rolled in. It was a day filled with emotion. I was happy about the engagement but I was scared I wouldn't make it off the mountain alive. You see, there was still a massive amount of snow up there and we had never snow shoed before. I was so happy to have my feet back on level ground.

Nate and I have always loved adventure. We love to backpack, camp, hike, and snowboard. Our wedding day was the start of many more adventures to come!
